    Double Sheet Bend

The sheet bend is one of the oldest known knots but not particularly strong. It can be used to join equal or unequal thickness lines. The bight should always be made with the thicker line.

    1. Form a bight in the thickest line. Pass the working end through the eye of the bight.

    3. Tuck the working end over the bight and under the standing part. If you want just a sheet bend tighten bend now.
