Figure of Eight Loop knot
This Fixed loop knot can be used if something is to be fitted through the loop.
- Make a long narrow bight, the tip of which will form the eye of the loop.
- Turn the bight and form a loop of two parallel lines.
- Pass the bight over the standing part of the rope / cord.
- Pass the eye loop round behind the standing and working end of the rope.
-
- Thread the eye through the first loop from front to back.
- Pull the tip of the eye through the upper loop and start to tighten the knot.
- Work the knot tight, leaving the eye at the required size.
