Lark’s Head Hitch knot
A simple hitch that will only hold if equal pressure is being exerted on both parts of the rope.
- Make a loop with the working end. This loop now becomes the working end.
- Pass the loop through the ring, open the loop.
- Pull the loop over and around the outside of the ring.
- Pull the loop back to lie over the parallel standing parts. Draw the loop tight to secure the hitch.
