    Lark’s Head Hitch knot

    A simple hitch that will only hold if equal pressure is being exerted on both parts of the rope.

    1. Make a loop with the working end. This loop now becomes the working end.

    2. Pass the loop through the ring, open the loop.

    3. Pull the loop over and around the outside of the ring.

    4. Pull the loop back to lie over the parallel standing parts. Draw the loop tight to secure the hitch.
