Double Sheet BendThe sheet bend is one of the oldest known knots but not particularly strong. It can be used to join equal or unequal thickness lines. The bight should always be made with the thicker line. - Form a bight in the thickest line. Pass the working end through the eye of the bight.
- pass the working end under the bight.
- Tuck the working end over the bight and under the standing part. If you want just a sheet bend tighten bend now.
- To form a double sheet bend take a second turn around the bight.
- Tuck the working end between the loop and the tip of the bight.
- Work the loops tight up against the bight to secure the double sheet bend.
