Figure of Eight knot

Also called the Flemish knot it is another useful stopper knot.

  1. Start by forming a loop, with the working end passing under the standing end. Then make a bight in the working end.

  2. Pass the working end across in front of the standing part then thread it through the loop from the back.

  3. The knot should now have the figure of eight shape from which it gets its name.

  4. Work the knot tight to complete it.
